Avonya and Michael | Delaware Wedding Photographer | Deerfield Golf Course

It’s all in the family! I am so honored (and humbled) that the Bennett Family has asked me to do both of their daughters’ weddings over the years starting with Kabria and James’ (LJ) wedding about 5 years ago, and now Avonya and Michael’s wedding this past weekend. And these two weddings spawned two more wedding of Avonya and Kabria’s friends! I am so grateful that this amazing family and community of incredible friends have trusted me with their very special days!

So on this early June day at the breathtaking Deerfield Golf Course in the picturesque northern-most portion of Delaware, Avonya and Mike said their sacred “I dos” in front of almost 200 guests. Of the many Delaware Wedding Venues, Deerfield is Delaware’s premier wedding, banquet, meeting and special events facility, located on the picturesque grounds bordering White Clay Creek State Park and offers versatile, elegant events facility and one of the top wedding venues in Delaware. Stately architecture and classic columns give Deerfield a refined air everywhere you look … fine art adorns virtually every wall … exquisite décor is tastefully understated … continuous walls of floor-to-ceiling glass connect this elegant interior to a wide, flowing Terrace and the breathtaking, natural setting that surrounds Deerfield – beautiful, landscaped grounds, manicured fairways and greens as well as panoramas of the scenic ancient forest of White Clay Creek State Park. If you’re in the market for a wedding venue, I highly recommend this property!

Avonya and Mike are the real deal. This beautiful and handsome couple are solid people of faith; they take God, marriage, family, and community very seriously (as we all should!). Refined, yet cheerful. Serious and mature, yet down to earth. I told Mike that he and Avonya are the kind of couple that I would love to be friends with. And I meant it! Avonya’s mom and dad scream “classy” in everything they do: planning, details, fashion, and their authenticity is the kind of vibe and people I want to serve. Simply kind and elegant from top to bottom and all around.

The day started with Avonya and Mike getting ready at the Hilton Wilmington/Christiana. The stunning gown from The Bridal Boutique perfectly hugged Avonya while her glam squad wore an assortment of peach, mustard, and burgundy couture dresses. Tears flowed during the father-daughter first reveal – a truly beautiful moment that I had the privilege of watching. The live-streamed ceremony took place in front of the floral-adorned gazebo, followed by cocktails while a multi-piece live jazz band play in the portico. The ceremony ballroom was decked out with fine linens, towering floral arrangements and rose-tapestry hurricane vases, while details and decorations abound. The MC and DJ kept the music revving as a fine-dining experience was enjoyed by all. Dancing, ice cream, chocolate fountain and fruit art, late-night french fries snack, cheesecake dessert, and a slice of a towering multi-layered cake with cascading floral design. In short, the wedding was extravagant and elegant in the classiest of ways.
