All of my couples are amazing. I mean that. The reason I know I can say that with confidence is because when the couple me to be their wedding photographer, little did they know that I also chose them. I chose them for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is “chemistry”.
And so it was when I first met Casey and Kevin in late 2019 (crazy to think it’s been that long!). I am certain we all discovered that we had a kindred spirit. I could tell that not only were Casey and Kevin beautiful on the outside (truth is, that’s what first draws people to each other) with their infectious smiles, but I could also tell that they were different by their genuine beauty on the inside. We actually had a delightful conversation, a conversation you might only expect from old friends. Sincere and probing questions that make people get to know each other, deeply. We found ourselves laughing and creating chemistry. I quickly learned that Casey and Kevin were a hoot and that I desperately wanted to capture their wedding day in photos. Indeed, it was a different type of love affair!
Casey and Kevin elected to have their engagement photo session captured at Patterson Park in front of the iconic pagoda. You can see their engagement photos here. It is during an engagement session that our chemistry, laughter, and even friendship grew. Common’ folks…. who doesn’t want to be around this amazing couple?!
And like many couples in 2020 and 2021, Casey and Kevin had to postpone their wedding celebration until 2022. Nevertheless, they still had an intimate wedding in 2021 with their closest friends and family in Western Maryland. But alas, this past weekend Casey, Kevin, their friends and family all came together to celebrate their wedding (again!) at the uniquely beautiful, rustic, and industrial vibe venue known as The Winslow. This gem of a venue, tucked away in southern Baltimore, is a great option for anyone looking for a city feel without the traditional “hotel” look. For February, the weather was exceptional, some sun and clouds with temperatures hovering in the 50’s.
Casey and her bridesmaids got ready at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Baltimore. Kevin showed up for the first look at the exact same spot they he proposed to Casey in front of the Azumi Japanese Restaurant facing the Baltimore Harbor. We then all went for their celebration at The Winslow but not before we capture some amazing photos outside while the soft sunlight filtered through the trees and the low hanging clouds. We even captured photos in front of the M&T Stadium (Ravens Stadium) and a Baltimore Metro System (MTA) train whizzing by in the background! This day was an amazing day. Finally, Casey and Kevin got the opportunity to celebrate not only in front of those who came, but also knowing that Casey’s dad was with them in spirit.
So join me in congratulating Casey and Kevin on their special day and come along with me on a quick sneak peek tour of their wedding photos below. Enjoy these images as I continue to edit the remaining images over the course of the next few weeks. And give a shout out and some love to their wedding team below!
