Lauren and Ben | Annapolis Harbor Boat Yard | Annapolis Wedding Photographer

For those of you that know me, you already know that I’ve been doing professional photography and videography work for many years, having photographed several hundred weddings, but each being unique, sometimes epic in their own right. I’ve seen simple and I’ve seen decadent and lavish. But once in a while, I get to see creativity not so much by wedding planners and designers, or by some eclectic group of creatives, but rather I see that certain “je ne sais quoi” by the Bride and Groom themselves!

And so it was with Lauren and Ben’s wedding this past weekend. Ben operates and manages one of Annapolis’ marinas – The Annapolis Harbor Boat Yard – which conveniently faces and overlooks Downtown Annapolis across the water. From the marina, you can see Ego Alley, the U.S. Naval Academy, the Maryland State House, St. Mary’s Cathedral, dozens of sailboats, and many other landmarks. It was this unique opportunity that prompted Ben and Lauren to convert this facility into a modern wedding venue, with all the bells and whistles, decorations, uplighting, tents, and other decor. I have to be honest… I have a greater appreciation when the Bride and Groom are personally involved and vested in the design and execution of their wedding details and logistics. And since my wife is an educator, I also have a special place in my heart for educators like Lauren who gives it her all for children at her elementary school! Well done Lauren and Ben!
